Now on Steam I see this old game has patched on Feb 25, Feb 26, March 23, March 25, March 31. What's left is using pointers but these typically break on a game update.
This makes it nearly impossible to hook into the game code. After an update this has stopped and, typically for games which are made by GameMaker engine, all values are running through the same single function. At the time the trainer was written the player values ran through an isolated game function which I was able to hook into.
